Pràgal
Igt Verona

Our Pràgal is an intriguing Veronese IGT red wine, a perfect blend of tradition and internationality. A fruity and spicy blend of Corvina, Merlot and Syrah, it presents an important structure and a pleasant elegance.

Its grapes come from vineyards with low yields, selected to guarantee the highest quality. One part of the grapes is vinified fresh, while the other is dried, to obtain a richer and more complex aromatic profile. After a long maceration and fermentation, the wine matures in large oak barrels in our historic winery located in Arbizzano di Negrar, in Valpolicella Classica.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This Verona IGT red wine tells the story of our family’s winemaking philosophy and reflects the quality of our grapes, embodying authenticity and passion. Thanks to the harmonious combination of native and international varieties, it presents distinctive scents and aromas that celebrate the meeting of tradition and oenological experimentation.
Made from Corvina, Merlot and Syrah, our Pràgal represents not only the successful blend of native and international grape varieties, but also the synthesis of the finest grapes from our estates in Arbizzano di Negrar and Colognola ai Colli. Corvina comes from the Valle di Negrar, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, where the soil is colluvial and mainly calcareous, with clay underlay. These vineyards, located at an altitude between 120 and 220 metres, are terraced and exposed to south-east, an ideal position for the ripening of the grapes. Merlot and Syrah are instead cultivated in Val d’Illasi, an area characterised by soils of alluvial origin, rich in calcareous clay in the deep layers and river stones on the surface. Here, the vineyards are at a lower altitude, between 60 and 70 metres, an ideal location to facilitate the development of a rich aromatic complexity in the grapes.
Our Pràgal is composed of the following blend: 60% Corvina, 20% Merlot and 20% Syrah, which together give the wine complexity, elegance and aromatic intensity.

Corvina is the grape variety that symbolises Valpolicella, cultivated since ancient times in this wine-growing region near Verona. With its important tannic component and the potential to give structure to the wine, it is the autochthonous soul of Pràgal.

Merlot, originally from Bordeaux, is today cultivated and appreciated worldwide for its versatility and softness. In Pràgal, Merlot enriches the blend by giving it roundness, body and pleasant fruity notes.

Syrah, a French variety from the Rhone Valley, brings depth and aromatic complexity. With its spicy characteristics, Syrah enriches the complexity of Pràgal, giving an intriguing intensity to its bouquet.

Our Pràgal is made from carefully selected grapes grown on low-yielding vines. Its vinification combines fresh grapes with a 10% Corvina grape that has undergone a natural drying process. After a long maceration and fermentation in stainless steel, lasting about 22 days, the wine is aged for a period of 6-8 months in large oak barrels. Ageing is completed in the bottle, where all scents are balanced in a perfect harmony.
To best appreciate Pràgal, we suggest serving it in a temperature between 14° and 16°C, in a large red wine glass that allows the best appreciation of its scents. Ideal with vegetarian risotto, especially if mushroom-based, Pràgal pairs well also with fish dishes such as soups, monkfish in guazzetto and sea bass. It is also excellent with white meats or a tasty charcuterie board.
