Tenuta Santa Maria Welcomes FAI for the Third Time: Visits Open on October 11 and 12

Arbizzano di Negrar, Valpolicella Classica — On the occasion of the FAI Autumn DaysTenuta Santa Maria will open its doors to the public on October 11 and 12 2026, in collaboration with the FAI Youth Group.

FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano is a national non-profit foundation dedicated to the protection, care and enhancement of Italy’s historic, artistic, natural and landscape heritage. Its mission is closely aligned with that of the National Trust in the United Kingdom and the National Trust for Historic Preservation in the United States: preserving places of cultural and environmental value, making them accessible, and passing them on to future generations.

The FAI Autumn Days are among the Foundation’s most important annual events: an opportunity to discover places that are often little known, normally closed to the public or not always accessible, brought to life through the dedication and storytelling of FAI volunteers.

Tenuta Santa Maria, the historic estate of the Bertani family in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, has been included among the FAI Places of the Heart for its historical, architectural and cultural significance. The national Places of the Heartcensus is the project through which FAI invites citizens to identify and support Italian sites worthy of being known, protected and passed on to future generations.

For Tenuta Santa Maria, this marks the third collaboration with FAI, following the previous openings in 2018 and 2020. The renewed partnership confirms the estate’s role as a living heritage site in the territory: a place where history, wine, landscape and family memory are deeply intertwined.

Over the two days, visitors will be able to discover the estate’s most representative spaces and experience one of the most significant historic properties in Valpolicella Classica.
